Chevron Texaco - New Headquarters Building, Aberdeen
When Chevron Texaco embarked on the design and build of their prestigious new headquarters building in Aberdeen they naturally wanted a team of dedicated experts who could tackle the project. As part of this team XBS was contracted to design the cabling and network infrastructure together with the comms room for the new building. This included the following:
• Over 225 kilometres of Cat6 cable
• 9000 cable terminations
• Both single and multi-mode fibre optic runs
• 4500 RJ45 outlet points
• 48 x 42U Equipment Racks
• Full environmental monitoring
Atkins plc – New Glasgow Office Building
Atkins, Europe’s largest multi-disciplinary consultancy, recently relocated its Glasgow office to new premises within the city. The project included a total refit of structured cabling across 4 floors. A Krone Cat5e Cabling Solution with a 20 year performance warranty was selected to meet Atkins’ networking requirements.
Commenting on the finished works, the client remarked: “We were very pleased with the quality of work and efficiency of the XBS team. They had a number of factors to contend with throughout the project and a very tight timescale to work to, but they still delivered on time and within budget”.
Norwich Union - Call Centre in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow
When Norwich Union planned to design and build a new, two storey, purpose built call centre in Glasgow they contracted Xtreme Business Solutions, through Cable & Wireless, to design and install the network infrastructure, which includes the following:
• 5 Communications rooms
• 2600 Cat5e BrandRex outlets
• In excess of 190,000 metres of cable
• 100 pairs of voice cable links
• 24 core fibre cable links
The project started out as a cabling installation but rapidly developed into the installation of a Cisco IP telephone system including 1000 handsets, together with all access and core switches.
