After completing my Electrical and Electronic Apprenticeship at HMNB Faslane, I moved into telecoms at Rosyth Royal Dockyard as a Telephone Engineer, where I worked for five years. I left and worked for a company for the next three years, installing Private Mobile Radio Networks, microwave and UPS backup systems for Scottish Hydro, Scottish Ambulance and Scottish Gas Services throughout Scotland. This gave me experience in different types of telecommunications before I moved to a data cabling company where I learned about a new type of “telecoms”.
I joined Xtreme in 2004. I remember at the time it was quite daunting as moving from an established company to a new start one was going to have challenges, but I had a good feeling that it was the right thing to do. Over a decade later, I had decided it was the right decision! My roles within the company include maintaining our ISO accreditation, Health and Safety Accreditations, along with estimating and looking after the odd project to help the Project Managers when they are over loaded with jobs.
