A native of South Africa, Jo Du Toit joined Xtreme in 2016 and is based in our Westhill office. As operations manager, Jo will work alongside Graeme to manage the business’s day-to-day activities and help improve productivity.
After spending the early years of his career working in the construction industry, Jo moved into the oil and gas sector in 2003. Since then he has worked his way up from being on the tools to being part of senior management teams.
In 2004, he was approached by a small company called Ropetec to join their team and assist with their efforts to start up a new division by training and coordinating site staff. Shortly after joining them, Jo was promoted to become a department and quality manager, before becoming operations manager in 2007.
As operations manager he worked alongside fellow members of the senior management team to restructure the company to enable and manage the company’s growth. This involved making key decisions about the business’s expansion and entry into other countries through acquisitions. During his time at Ropetec Jo was part of the team that grew the company from around 30 staff and contractors to over 400.
In 2012, Jo took the opportunity to emigrate from sunny South Africa to the UK. The move saw him hold a variety of engineering, key account management and operations management roles for companies including Petrofac and Odfjell Drilling.
At Xtreme, Jo will help to manage the performance of the business in order to improve efficiencies and allow us to continue delivering a high standard of service to our clients. Jo will also be tasked with ensuring we maintain our ISO standards and that our teams in Aberdeenshire and Fife collaborate more effectively in order to help Xtreme become a market leader.
