Network Infrastructure for Transocean

Working with the IT Dep. in Transocean, Xtreme carried out a full remit of their clients Network Infrastructure requirements.

This was inclusive of Structured Cabling, Fibre Optic Backbone, IPCCTV, Door Access, Wireless and Remote Monitoring Equipment which had to comply with Transocean own global accreditation and standards. Xtreme also designed their new EMEA Data Centre Solution which was finally enclosed in a purpose built room.

After understanding these they then set to work designing a fully operational and resilient copper and fibre network which consisted of some 3200 RJ45 Outlets and Fibre Backbone over their Main Building and Training Centre. In addition to this we also had to ensure that their room allocated as a Data Centre would be fitted out with sufficient space that would allow for all existing equipment as well as expansion for future hardware. The Siemon Versopod was chosen with a hot isle solution enabling maximum space for servers and electronic hardware which also allowed for “Zero U” for horizontal cabling. A full Cisco Hardware solution was also designed with a security specialist partner ensuring that Transocean Network Hardware Solution was one of the first in the UK to encompass Ethernet, IPCCTV, Door Acces, Remote Monitoring, Security and Wireless.
